Since 1986 Faith Rollins has been one of Plaid's most active
authors!
Plaid discovered her work at the Society of Decorative Painters
convention in Portland, and immediately knew her designs would
make great books. Although, she says, she was initially unsure
of what developing a book would entail, she agreed. At the
time she had no idea how right that decision was!
Since then Faith has authored 37 books with Plaid, including
35 wood books and 2 fabric painting books! Over the years
she has also developed a line of Painter's Stencils, painting
brushes, stencils brushes, and more.
 So
what is Faith's secret to her success? "To become published,
you need to be seen," says Faith. "Go to conventions to exhibit
you work and meet with publishers. Send your projects to magazines.
Join some of the online packet clubs." Getting your work out
there and seen by publishers, is the best path to success
in this business, she says.
While Faith loves designing and watching a project come together,
her favorite part of her job as a designer is teaching beginning
painters. She has traveled all over the country sharing her
painting style. "To see the joy on beginners' faces then they
see what they are able to create is such a pleasure for me!"
