Donna Kooler
Bucilla Needle Crafts
Since 1989 Kooler Design Studio, Inc. has produced creative
and beautiful needlework designs for all of the Bucilla lines
from their studio in Pleasant Hill, California.
President Donna Kooler began her career in 1973 as the design
director for the leading needlework company at the time. Over
the years, she had the opportunity to gather together some
of the best designers in the industry. When the company was
sold in 1985, Donna, together with award-winning designers
Linda Gillum, Nancy Rossi, Sandy Orton, Barbara Baatz, and
Jorja Hernandez, formed Kooler Design Studio.
Donna believes in the power of creativity and the strength
of many working as one. From inception to pre-press most of
the product is completed on-site. When the studio receives
an assignment it is assigned to a designer, an assistant designer
charts and stitches the design, and the finished design is
sent to the client for approval. "Everyone makes sure the
product goes out well-done because the reputation of the company
affects everyone here," Kooler says.
After almost 30 years in the industry, Donna says that every
day is still exciting because she works with such talented
artists. While the Kooler name may represent the many dedicated
people who work along side her, Donna is the force that pushes
everyone to strive for quality and success. "Talent and professional
work ethics are the foundation for success," she says.
